We found Fai on the internet and called him to find out more about his cycling lessons for our son. He recommended a two-hour lesson and said our son should be able to cycle by the end of it. We were quite skeptical. Recalling how we used to learn cycling when we were kids, the many weeks if not months we took to master the skill (not forgetting the painful scrapped knees and elbows), we thought it’s quite an impossible task. However, we had tried teaching our son and found it difficult and decided we might as well give Fai a try.
We are so glad we made the right decision.
At the end of the 2-hour lesson, our son was cycling on his own (just need a bit of help with the starting)! He was also enjoying himself throughout the lesson and didn’t even fall once! We were simply amazed with the results! Fai is indeed a good coach – he was patient, encouraging, and as our son said, “was always smiling”.
As we had brought along our son’s bike (during lesson, we used the one provided), he offered to have a look to determine its suitability for our son. He offered some tips to make it more user-friendly, such as removing the basket and rear seat that came with the bike to lighten the weight.
So now we just have to help our son practice more to fully master the skill and very soon, we can be off for our first family cycling outing!
